“You know you’re making too much money when the government decides to increase your tax burden.” -- Sucharita Mulpuru, senior analyst at Forrester Research, during the National Retail Federation’s annual conference in New York City, on a recent tax law allowing New York to collect sales tax from online retailers with no physical presence in the state.
Online retailers aren’t happy campers (and I can’t imagine consumers are thrilled either). Some are attempting to fight back, but so far, Amazon and Overstock are already being left in the dust. Read more here.
